This course aims to teach simplified structural assessment approaches for the development of fragility curves. Fragility curves are essential components of earthquake risk assessments and are developed and used by researchers, civil engineering consultants and insurers.

The course brings state of the art technqiues and tools to developers of fragility curves, promoting a consistent approach to the inclusion of uncertainty. It is aimed at students with an MSc level education in an engineering subject.

Tiziana Rossetto

Tiziana Rossetto

Tiziana Rossetto is a Professor in Earthquake Engineering at the Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering (CEGE) of University College London, where she founded and co-directs EPICentre, a multidisciplinary centre for the study of buildings, infrastructure and societal resilience to natural hazards. Tiziana’s personal expertise lies in the vulnerability assessment of buildings and infrastructure subjected to earthquakes and tsunami. She is currently the Module Leader and Co-ordinator for Seismic Risk Assessment (CEGE0033) as part of the MSc Earthquake Engineering with Disaster Management (MSc EEDM).

Arash Nassirpour

Arash Nassirpour

Arash Nassirpour is a Teaching Fellow in Structural and Earthquake Engineering at Department of Civil, Environmental & Geomatic Engineering (CEGE) of University College London. He is a member of EPICentre research group, a multidisciplinary centre for the study of buildings, infrastructure and societal resilience to natural hazards. Arash is currently the Programme Director of MSc Earthquake Engineering with Disaster Management (MSc EEDM) and the Module Leader and Co-ordinator for Advanced Seismic Design of Structures (CEGE0061) at masters level and Structural Mechanics (CEGE0101) at undergraduate level. He holds a PhD in Structural & Earthquake Engineering with an extensive experience on conducing structural vulnerability analysis and assessment as well as resilience and strengthening.
